The multiphase M9 complex is surrounded by private and public investment projects aimed at revitalizing and improving the New Montreal-Old-Montreal neighbourhood and at rehabilitating the Saint-Lawrence waterfront. More than $1 billion in projects are already in the works, the most important being the redevelopment of the Bonaventure Expressway, which marks the start of the transformation of the Harbour front and the birth of the Bonaventure neighbourhood. During Phase 1, the Expressway will be lowered between Downtown and the Lachine Canal in order to turn it into an attractive, modern urban boulevard where various buildings and public spaces will be built.

Vast green spaces will also be created at the gateway of the city to reflect the eco-friendly aspect of the area. The Bonaventure neighbourhood will feature over 20,000 square meters of green spaces, including Bonaventure Park, directly facing M9-3.

$750 million will also be invested to revitalize Silo # 5, three streets away from M9, along the Lachine Canal in Old-Montreal, where M9 residents go to relax.
