5 Shops to Visit on NDG’s Monkland Avenue

Monkland Avenue is the main hub for Montreal’s trendy Notre-Dame-de-Grâce neighbourhood. Well-known for its amazing selection of bars and restaurants, this hot spot also shouldn’t be overlooked for its trendy shops, all of which offer a little something for everyone.

Zone Maison

A popular home décor shop, Zone is a one-stop boutique for trendy, outside-the-box additions to your home. They have all the regular things you want, such as sofas, ottomans, console desks and tables, but designed to be up to date with the latest trends, without being prohibitively expensive. Their lighting solutions are especially popular, with lamps made of stone and industrial style light bulbs that can utterly transform any living space.

Austrian Ski Shop

If you’re a skiing enthusiast, or simply want to know what equipment to buy if you’re looking to take it up as a new hobby, you couldn’t ask for a more helpful place than Monkland’s Austrian Ski Shop. In business for fifty years, they also do repairs and offer a wide range of skis and accessories, along with the expertise to make sure you leave with all the equipment you need.

La Meunerie Urbaine

A relatively new bakery which opened in October 2017, the shop has already amassed a wide, devoted clientele, with it being an especially popular spot on the weekends where locals show up en masse to sample their delicious breads and pastries. Take note; they’re closed Monday and Tuesday!

And if by chance they don’t have what you need, simply walk down the street a few blocks to:

Ecollegey – The Real Green Grocer
