Located between Queen Elizabeth and Colonel By Drive, the 7.8-kilometer watercourse is the world’s largest outdoor skating rink. This means you have all day and night to enjoy a romantic evening with your significant other or a whimsical day with the kids. If you didn’t bring your skates, don’t worry, there are skate rentals available near the canal.
Beavertails In Ottawa
Who can resist fried dough topped with sugar and cinnamon? No one! “BeaverTails” are a Canadian pastry concocted by the Pam and Grant Hooker family. In 1980, the Ontario-based family opened up their first permanent beavertails store in Ottawa’s ByWard Market.
Since then, lots of people have had the pleasure of sinking their teeth into this mouthwatering snack. Fans of this delight include Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton! You could even try this exquisite dessert with Nutella, a maple spread or M&Ms. There are beavertsail kiosks lining the Rideau Canal Skateway.
