Simons

Byward Market Men’s Fashion

The Ottawa skyline is perhaps the jewel of the Rideau Centre’s new design, flooding the building with natural light. Simons has achieved this to perfection with its large windows  enticing consumers to come inside, and seating areas which allow one to sip on a latte while admiring the expansive views of the Byward’s bustling streets below. Rising up two levels and spanning 100,000 square feet, Simons is the largest store added in the final stage of the Rideau Centre’s revitalization, built upon the facade of the former Ogilvy building, a historic Ottawa department store that closed ages ago. Three levels of fashions at a variety of price points make Simons the go-to. While it doesn’t feel like your typical big-box fashion emporium, you can find well-known brands ranging from Nike, Vans and Adidas all the way up to Balmain, Moschino and Play by Comme des Garçons. Simons’ focus on both affordable and designer items sets it apart. Hop over after work to explore the range of suits, ties, and array of stylish patterned scarfs or hats. While these items are reasonably priced, they’re not far from the curated designer section, which features statement pieces by Astrid Anderson and Alexander McQueen, among many others. Casual items from the Le 31 brands as well as crewneck sweaters for $34 and knit cardigans for $69.99 make Simons an essential one-stop destination for the busy modern man’s fashion needs.

Frank + Oak

Byward Market Men’s Fashion Canadian company Frank = Oak was born of frustration, as the founders grew frustrated of trying to find the clothes they wanted to wear. Their inventive approach to integrating design and technology culminate in a hip update on classic men’s fashion, appealing to millennials and beyond. The brand’s mantra is helping everyday men find the clothes and accessories they crave at reasonable prices by staying clear of the clothing industry’s markups and middlemen. From sourcing the highest quality cotton blends from the best mills around the world, to the subtle engraving of a Frank + Oak button, this place makes it remarkably easy for you to look good. This is the place to find cool textures and simple yet styling patterns, with their signature stripes and polka dots adding a touch of pizzaz to your wardrobe.

Indochino

Byward Market Men’s Fashion Gentleman wear, made to measure that will have you looking like a million bucks. Indochino has showrooms in Toronto, Vancouver, New York, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Beverly Hills and Boston, and has now graced the capital with its refined men’s apparel. With craftsmanship at the core of their brand, Indochino prides itself on providing men with the best made to measure shirts and suits at a great price. A slightly European air marks their collections, while their modus operandi makes Indochino stand out amongst menswear brands. The store, or showroom as Indochino calls it, is actually an extension of the company’s online made-to-measure experience. The showroom works in tandem with Indochino’s e-commerce website, so men can access their profiles and reorder at their convenience. Customers of Indochino are given an in-store Style Guide to measure, assist with fabric selection and help them design one-of-a-kind suits or shirts. Price points begin at $599 and shirts at $89, and feature countless options including buttons, vents, pockets, lapels and monograms. The Rideau showroom is a modern and bright store, boasting a comfortable reception area and lounge dedicated to providing the unique  approach of this next generation retailer.

Strellson

Byward Market Men’s Fashion

Switzerland’s largest menswear manufacturer has brought upscale apparel to Ottawa’s CF Rideau Centre. The menswear brand Strellson has opened a chic new location on the third level of the mall’s expansion wing. Producing mid-to-high priced casual and dressy menswear and accessories, Strellson will appeal to a range of ages. The brand’s exciting new campaign called “Unstoppable” launched last month on what would have been Freddie Mercury’s 70th Birthday, featuring Queen’s song ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ in an exclusive cover version by producer MNEK. This 2,000 square foot store offers an expansive range of Strellson’s fashion collections for the fall season. As with many of the Centre’s new updates, extra perks like Strellson’s handsome dressing room area which includes lounge seating and (free!) coffee, that world-class shopping experience has finally arrived in the heart of the capital.

ArtHaus Condos residents will be immersed in the artful, amenity-filled lifestyle the Byward is known for. It is our capital’s newest work of art–The Rideau Centre’s high-end retail transformation–which acts as the Byward’s piece de resistance!
